[ARCHIVED] Advertisement for Bids: City Hall Front Entrance Upgrade

CITY OF TRENTON

Wayne County, Michigan

ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

Sealed proposals for the City Hall Front Entrance Upgrade, Contract No. 2020-01 will be received by the City of Trenton, Michigan in the Office of the City Clerk, City Hall, 2800 Third Street, Trenton, Michigan 48183 until 10:00 AM local time Tuesday, February 81 2022. If at least (3) bids are received, all bids will be publicly opened and read at that time and place. If less than (3) bids are received, all bids will be opened at the meeting of the Mayor & City Council on February 22, 2022. 

The project primarily consists of the following: 

    Removal of concrete slabs, steps, caps, and railing at south City Hall Entrance and wheelchair access ramp.

    Installation of concrete slabs, steps, wall, caps, and railing for the south City Hall Entrance and wheelchair access ramp.

    Add Alternate for removal and replacement of a portion of the concrete slab, step wall, and railings at the North City Hall Entrance.

Bid documents may be obtained through the State of Michigan (MITN) web site or through the City of Trenton's web site (trentonmi.org) after 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 11, 2022. 

The Accepted Bidder will be required to provide a satisfactory Performance Bond, and Labor and Material Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Bid Price. 

The Proposal must be properly made out on the forms included with the applications. A certified or cashier's check or bid bond (issued by a bonding company licensed in the State of Michigan) payable to the City of Trenton, Michigan in an amount equal to five percent (5.00%) of the bid, shall be submitted with each bid. This amount shall be forfeited to the City of Trenton by the accepted bidder upon their failure to enter into a contract with the City within ten (10) days after the award of the contract. The bid bond and/or certified check will be returned to all bidders after the award of the contract. All quantities are estimated, the owner reserves the right to increase or decrease any of the quantities with no adjustment in unit price. 

All submitted bids shall remain firm for ninety (90) days and shall not be withdrawn by the contractor once submitted. The City of Trenton reserves the right to accept or reject any or all offers, in whole or in part, and to waive any informalities therein, when such waiver is in the interest of the City of Trenton, and to award the contract to other than the low bidder.
