Are you looking to enhance your competitive swimming skills? If you can swim one length of the 25 yard pool and are between the ages of 5-18, the Trenton Swim Club is for you! The program runs May 1-July 21 except where noted.

Swimmers will be introduced to all 4 competitive strokes and provide an atmosphere to use those skills at swim meets held throughout the season. Swim meets will give swimmers an opportunity to showcase their developing skills and abilities. The program will begin indoor at the Trenton High School Pool, where swimmers will be evaluated and continue outdoor at the Kennedy Aquatic Center.

This is a new program that will be offered at the Kennedy Aquatic Center. The Trenton Diving Club is for anyone with a passion to learn about diving and pursue diving as a sport. During the club, divers will learn the fundamentals of the sport.

This program is designed to introduce, promote and develop sound swimming technique in the 3 - 6 age group. An emphasis is placed on comfort with water, safety in and around pools, developmentally appropriate stroke skills and fun! Parents are encouraged to be in close proximity to hear and see the techniques and skills that can be reinforced at family/open swimming. Jr. Swimmers will be encouraged to move to the next level of swim.

Acquainting your child with the water in a safe and relaxing atmosphere. Our instructor will help you teach your child to enjoy the water and learn basic swim skills depending on child's age. Watch your child gain self-confidence and grow through your reassurance. Children, ages 12 months to 6 years, and one or both parents welcome.

Jump in and learn to swim this summer in a safe and friendly environment! Our trained staff will teach swimmers 5 years or older of all levels, according to the standards set by the American Red Cross. The goal of the program is to improve your child's swimming skills, and boost your child's self-confidence.

"PLAY BALL!" That's the word from the Trenton Baseball Association who organizes the youth baseball, fast pitch softball and tee ball programs.

Registration for 2018 season will run January 1-March 1, 2018

  • Tee Ball: 5-6 years old
  • Coach Pitch (machine pitch): 7-8 year old boys and girls
  • 10u (Kid pitch): 9-10 years old
  • 12u: 11-12 years old
  • 14u: 13-14 years old
  • 16u or High School level leagues: 15-17 years old

In late January 2018, boys 10 & under and girls grades 2-5 can develop their skills, inside, at the Softball and Baseball Drop-in Programs. In cooperation with Trenton Baseball Association.

  • Bring your glove and gym shoes, we'll supply the rest.
  • Punch card and waiver are required.
  • Punch cards must be purchased in advance at the Recreation Office inside Trenton City Hall.
  • Punch cards provide you with 20 visits and do not expire.

In partnership with the Trenton Hockey Association, Lacrosse is coming to Trenton! The program home field is at Affholter Park. The goal is to introduce the wonderfully fast-paced game of lacrosse to area youth, grades 3-12, and to support its growth throughout the Downriver community.

The introductory program will help area youth develop the critical skills necessary to play and enjoy the game. Fundamentals of the sport will be promoted through fun activities and small area games. When comfortable with passing, catching and moving the ball, inter-club competitions and exhibition games will be scheduled with nearby communities.

Youth tennis will feature instruction as usual with an emphasis on kindly-sized courts and equipment. Kids will work with balls that help develop better timing, balance and control. We have the right group for you, fun for all ages! Classes will be held at the High School tennis courts.

All players interested in getting valuable tennis practice time during the summer should sign up for Drop-in and Hit! Play will follow U.S.T.A. rules applicable to your age division. Hitting and matches will be supervised by a coach.

  • Must provide your own gear. We will provide tennis balls.

Trenton's Youth Triathlon returns for its second year! Whether you are an aspiring triathlete or just looking to get active this summer, the Trenton Youth Triathlon has something to offer everyone! The Trenton Youth Triathlon is a recreational event with a swim, bike, and run course designed for children ages 5 to 14.

Date: August 11, 2017 (make-up day August 18, 2017)
Time: Athlete check-in begins at 3:30 p.m., race begins at 5 p.m.

The Downriver Soccer Club/Michigan Rush Downriver is part of Rush Soccer, with over 33,000 youth players nationwide. Rush Soccer teaches the fundamental skills of the game, and develops athletes through organized leagues, teams, tournaments, training, coaches and athletic facilities. All staff are licensed NSCAA and USSF coaches and registered through MSYSA Risk management program.

Specifically geared for children in preschool, kindergarten and grades 1-2, this program will focus on introducing key soccer skills through modified games and fun activities. Players will be taught passing, dribbling, receiving, and shooting, in addition to playing some semi-structured small-sided games. While emphasis will be on soccer-related skills, the program develops important coordination, balance, and fitness skills that are essential for all types of sport. This 4-week clinic is offered Mondays and Wednesdays, July 17 - August 9, from 9:00 a.m.-10:30 a.m., at BASF Waterfront Park. Wyandotte, Riverview, Southgate and Trenton residents, ages 10-14, are welcome. Participants will learn skills such as passing, setting, serving, and spiking.
