Tefend Park - Community Playground Build

Friday, October 7 & Saturday, October 8 | 8am-3pm

Join your neighbors and friends for a great community project! We are set to install a new playscape at Tefend Park near the picnic shelter on October 7 & 8 and we are looking for volunteers to help! No experience required. All skill levels are needed to help with the build! There will be a job for everyone! Monetary, material and refreshment donations welcomed!

Simply fill out your volunteer commitment form online (takes less than 5 minutes) by October 1, 2016.

Parks and Facilities

The City of Trenton has nearly 200 acres of park land spread over 16 parks and 5 tot lots which the Department maintains. Facilities are provided for softball, baseball, soccer, volleyball, basketball and other activities. Playgrounds, picnic sites, fishing sites and boat launching facilities are also available. This facility houses the City's Senior Citizen Program (see senior section). It also serves as a meeting place for many service organizations as well as other City sponsored special events. Private groups and organizations may also rent this facility. Contact Westfield Center for rental information.

We are pleased to announce that the Trenton Theatre is now home to the Downriver Youth Performing Arts Center. As part of a lease agreement with the City of Trenton, DYPAC has assumed management responsibilities for the 400 seat theatre. If you would like to rent the Theatre for your next event or fundraiser, contact Debbie at (734) 671-2202 for information regarding available dates and rental fees.

Adopt a Park Program

Calling all groups, organizations, neighbors, businesses and individuals! Show your community pride by adopting one of Trenton's 20 municipal parks! This new stewardship program is in direct response to the results of Trenton Parks and Recreation Community survey, in which an overwhelming number of responders were in favor of developing an "Adopt a Park" program to help sustain Trenton's parks with community involvement.
