The City of Trenton Parks and Recreation Department is looking for vibrant individuals who have a passion for fitness and a desire to help others reach their fitness goals! Please submit application to



Qualifications: Minimum age 21 years and have a minimum of 8 weeks of full-time experience working with special needs population and a minimum of 4-weeks of full-time administrative experience in an organized camp or related program.

General Function: Under the direction of the Program Coordinator, the supervisor will be responsible for creating, implementing and supervising a safe and fun camp program. The supervisor will direct camp leaders, serve as a role model for campers and be on the front-line to respond to parent's comments and concerns.


  • Responsible to Parks and Recreation Program Coordinator

  • Coordinate summer camp schedule and activities before the start of the six-week camp.

  • Fundraise and raise awareness about SNAP within the Downriver Community.

  • Ensure that all forms and information have been turned in by parents/guardians before the beginning of the program.

  • Take daily attendance and be aware of where participants are at all times.

  • Make sure that all necessary supplies are bought and taken on each fieldtrip.

  • Maintain accountability of funds and provide proper receipts and documentation.

  • Stay late if parents are not able to pick up participants on time.

  • Log hours worked by each staff member and turn in sheet to the Parks and Recreation Office every two weeks.

  • Develop a positive relationship with the participants and their parents/guardian.

  • Be a role model for the participants.

  • Keep medical forms available at all times.

  • Train new staff at orientation and at other staff meetings.

  • Type out and distribute weekly calendars and updates to parents at the end of each week.

  • Delegate responsibilities to Supervisor and Instructors.
