
Mayor Gerald Brown was elected as Mayor in November 2001. Most recently, he was re-elected in November 2007 and the term is to expire November 2011. There are no term limitations for the elected officials in the City of Trenton.
Prior to his election as Mayor, Gerald Brown was a police officer in the City of Trenton for 29 years and served as its police chief from 1992-1999, when he retired.
He served on the Trenton Board of Education from 1990-2001 and served in all capacities (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Trustee) during his tenure on the Board. He also is an active member in his church and the Trenton Rotary Club.
Mayor Brown has lived in Trenton for the past six decades and is married to Sheryl, father of two daughters (Kelly & Karie), and is the proud grandfather of six children.
He served his military duty in the U.S. Air Force, where he was honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant.
