Snowmobile Safety ClassLet it snow, let it snow, let it snow! We're offering a Snowmobile Safety Class at the Westfield Center. In cooperation with the DNR, this course is open to persons of all ages who wish to learn safe snowmobile operation, but is required for students age 12-17 who want to operate a snowmobile without direct adult supervision. To earn your certificate, students must attend the entire class, pass a written exam and be 12 years of age or older. Classes are taught by state certified instructor. No refunds will be issued. Fun Start KayakWant to see if kayaking is right for you? Learn basic kayaking skills including wet exit, forward and reverse strokes, getting in and out of a kayak from shore, and an intro on how to get back in a kayak in the water. Anyone who has never had formal instruction will benefit. Bring water clothing and shoes, nose plugs, a towel, and change of dry clothing. All gear will be provided. Approximate height and weight is needed to insure proper gear. Maximum student/instructor ratio of 4:1. Fall and Spring classes held at Arthurs Pool, 6:30 AM - 9:30 PM. Summer class held at Kennedy Aquatic Center, 6:00 AM - 8:00 PM. Ages 10 & up.

2010 Boat Launch permits, for the facility located at Rotary Park, are available at the Recreation Office. You must present your boat and trailer registration to obtain a yearly permit. The fee is $35 resident and $70 non-resident. Daily permits are available for $7 at the Recreation Office during business hours and at the Trenton Police Department 24 hours a day. 2011 boat ramp permits on sale March 1, 2011.
