Aquatic Center ScheduleOpen swim sessions require that any child under 48 inches, and under 10 years of age be accompanied by a swimmer 16 years or older. Family activity sessions require anyone under 16 years old to be accompanied by a swimming adult over 18 years old. Sessions may be changed, shortened or cancelled due to participation, weather conditions and special events. Resident I.D. Required. Patrons who have been swimming for less than one hour and have their receipt issued by cashier may request a pass for a return visit. Keep your receipt! No pool pass will be issued without a receipt! |
Season PassesSay cheese! It's picture time. A photo ID system will be used for all pass holders. Children, adult or family passes must be purchased at the Recreation Department. Photos will be taken Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM - 5 PM. Resident PassesChildren: $45, (5-17 years old) Punch CardsWe know that season passes are not for everyone, that's why we are offering a punch card good for 10 visits. A great savings! Purchase cards at Recreation office. |
Summer Swim Club 2011Attention all swimmers, novice, intermediate and advanced, ages 6-18! The Trenton Swim Club is for you! The only requirement is to swim one length of the 25-yard pool. Master that, and you're on your way to learning all four competitive strokes from our experienced coaches. Weekly swim meets will give swimmers a chance to showcase their developing skills and challenge their abilities. Swimmers will be placed in the appropriate skill level during the indoor session. This program will not only improve swimming skills, it will also increase self-esteem and provide a sense of belonging. Includes a participant t-shirt. | Developmental Training 2011Are you interested in training hard or qualifying for your high school or college conference finals? If you can answer yes, you need to look no further than the Trenton Swim Club Development Training Program. Swimmers will have the opportunity to train up to 9 times per week, obtain a USS card, attend a minimum of two meets (one is a USS LC State Meet). Swimmers must have their own equipment including: paddles, pull buoy, short fins, kick board and large mesh bag to carry equipment. This is an advanced program that is offered to any Downriver or Western Wayne County swimmer. Cost includes coaching fees and t-shirt. |
Diving Program 2011Dive in to the Kennedy Aquatic Center the fun way! Trenton Parks and Recreation is offering a competitive diving program this summer. Taught by a certified US diving coach, this program is open to all interested in 1m diving, from beginner to the more advanced. Divers will progress at their own pace. Includes t-shirt. | Bubble Blowers 2011This program is designed to introduce, promote and develop sound swimming technique in the 3 - 6 age group. An emphasis is placed on comfort with water, safety in and around pools, developmentally appropriate stroke skills and fun! Parents are encouraged to be in close proximity to hear and see the techniques and skills that can be reinforced at family/open swimming. Jr. Swimmers will be encouraged to move to the next level of swim club when it is developmentally appropriate. |
Deep Water ExerciseIncrease fitness and well-being in this new water exercise program. Conducted in water over 6 feet deep, this class will provide a fun atmosphere, increased mobility, and stronger bodies. Approved floatation belts will be welcome (and noodles will be available), which can help with posture and proper movement. This is the ultimate in non-stress exercise. The water provides safety for all joints, a great aerobic workout, and the water resistance provides weight-bearing resistance. Some swimming ability is recommended for your comfort. Class held on Mondays 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. 18 year old minimum age. | Summer Parent Tot SwimSummer's here and the time is right for acquainting your child with the water in a safe and relaxing atmosphere. Our instructor will help you teach your child to enjoy the water and learn basic swim skills depending on your child's age. Through this experience, you and your child will share quality time as you watch your child gain self-confidence and grow through your reassurance. Children, ages 12 months to 6 years, and one or both parents are welcome. The classes will be held at the Kennedy Aquatic Center on Mondays from 6:30 to 7:00 p.m. and Wednesdays, 6:00-6:30 p.m. and 6:30 -7 p.m. Minimum 6/ Maximum 15 |
SwimnasticsDo you want to stay cool, have fun and feel great this summer? Then, sign up for Swimnastics. This non-stressful shallow water exercise program will increase your cardiovascular endurance, muscle tone and flexibility, as well as, reducing your stress level and improving your overall well being. Enjoy the summer evenings, have fun, and get some great exercise. No swimming experience needed. Class held on Wednesdays, 7-8 p.m. Ages 18 or older. | Water WalkingLet your feet do the walking - in the water! If you are looking for a creative and fun way to cool off this summer and get fit at the same time, we have the program for you! This innovative program is designed for all ages. Our USWFA certified instructor, Debbie Barnes, will literally, walk you through, step by step, to gain the most from your walking workout. The hour-long program is conducted in waist-deep water, requiring no swimming abilities. As with any fitness program, our instructor will tailor the program to your fitness level. It's a great way to get fit while enjoying a refreshing dip in the pool. |
